João de Sousa’s music has long defied simple definitions—it blends Portuguese melancholy, the subtlety of fado, and contemporary musical sensibilities. The artist, originally from Portugal but now living and working in Poland, will return to the festival, this time accompanied by the Dissonance String Quartet. The concert program will feature both João de Sousa’s original compositions and songs rooted in the fado tradition, including “Estranha
forma de vida,” “Cantiga de amigo,” “Longe,” and “Madrugada.” It will be an evening full of subtle emotions, Portuguese sounds, and music that resonates best in a summer atmosphere and in close proximity to the audience.
