Not everyone who makes their mark on history does so with their own legacy in mind. There are people whose greatest legacy is others—their passions, their achievements, and the culture they build together.
Jerzy Wąsiewicz belonged to this group. For decades, he helped shape Stargard’s artistic landscape, supported artists, organized exhibitions, and created spaces where people involved in the arts could come together. He left behind a legacy that endures—it lives on in the city’s memory, its institutions, and successive generations of artists.
On the 100th anniversary of the birth of this outstanding cultural promoter, we invite you to the opening of an exhibition of photographs by Tadeusz Surma—a Person of Distinction for the City of Stargard and a master of the city’s photographic chronicle.
The exhibition opening will take place on September 3, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Hol Gallery of the Stargard Cultural Center.
We would be delighted to welcome you during this special evening dedicated to the memory of a man who, through his work, proved that the true value of art arises from connection, kindness, and community.
