A special outdoor concert dedicated to Elizabeth von Arnim—a writer whose life and work are closely tied to the area that is now the municipality of Dobra—will take place on the beach in Stolc. The concert is being organized to mark the 160th anniversary of Elizabeth von Arnim’s birth.
Elizabeth von Arnim, born Mary Annette Beauchamp, settled in Nassenheide (today’s Rzędziny) in the late 19th century. It was here that she wrote her first book, *Elizabeth and Her German Garden*, which brought her international fame. Fascinated by nature, gardens, and the tranquility of the Pomeranian landscape, the writer created a work that remains a symbol of her exceptional artistic sensibility to this day.
The first part of the concert will feature the “WIENIAWSKI” instrumental ensemble, with the following lineup, among others:
• Danuta Organiściuk – violin,
• Włodzimierz Żylin – cello,
• Olga Bila – piano.
The artists will present a program featuring works by masters of classical and chamber music. The program will include, among others, excerpts from the famous “Summer” from Antonio Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,” Henryk Wieniawski’s atmospheric “Legend,” and compositions by Claus Ogerman and Alexey Shor, including “Adio” and “The Luxembourg Garden.” The program will also feature exceptional works by Astor Piazzolla—a composer who fused classical music with the energy of tango—such as “Oblivion,” “La Muerte del Angel,” and “Ave Maria,” as well as music by Fryderyk Chopin, whose beauty has delighted audiences around the world for generations.
In the second part of the concert, the audience will hear the most beautiful operetta and musical theater pieces performed by Yana Hudzovska (soprano). The artist will be accompanied on the piano by Rafał Kowalczyk.
The summer concert on the beach in Stolcu will be a unique convergence of music, history, and nature—a space where the sounds of great composers will blend with the story of Elizabeth von Arnim and the place that inspired her work.
Admission is free.
The concert is part of the project “Four Seasons with Elizabeth von Arnim,” co-financed by the Small Projects Fund of the Interreg VIA Program Mecklenburg–Western Pomerania/Brandenburg/Poland 2021–2027 under Specific Objective 4.6: Culture and Sustainable Tourism.
