The Międzyzdroje Municipal Public Library and the Międzyzdroje “Rodzina” Association invite children ages 8–15 to participate in the project “Be Ready for the Road—Workshops for Children and Youth on Safety Using an Emergency Backpack,” which will be carried out as part of the public initiative “Community Activist: A+! Program to Support Grassroots Initiatives for 2025–2029.” The project was developed by Andżelika Gałecka, Director of the Międzyzdroje Library and a member of the “Rodzina” Association.
Workshop dates:
September 11, 2026 (Friday), 6:00–9:00 p.m., Międzyzdroje Library—educational workshops preparing children and youth for hazards and minimizing negative consequences should they occur, using an evacuation backpack (Group I)
October 2, 2026 (Friday), 6:00–9:00 p.m., Międzyzdroje Library—educational workshops preparing children and teenagers for hazards and minimizing negative consequences should they occur, using an evacuation backpack (Group II)
October 23, 2026 (Friday), 5:00–10:00 p.m., Lubin Volunteer Fire Department Station – workshops with a survival instructor (Groups I and II)
The program includes, among other things, first aid, what should be in an emergency backpack, self-defense training, camouflage techniques, terrain orientation, how to build a campfire, map reading, how to filter water, an introduction to freeze-dried food, and refreshments (pizza, soup, sausages, sweet and savory snacks, water, juices, and tea).
Space is limited! The classes are free of charge.
We are accepting registrations from September 1 through September 11, 2026, via email at biblioteka.mje.bibliotekarze@gmail.com or in person at the library.
Each participant will receive an NRC thermal blanket, a whistle, and a flashlight.
