Tadeusz Piotrowski - Szczecinian, Himalayan mountaineer, writer, photographer - meeting with Danuta Piotrowska

He began intensive summer and winter Tatra climbing in 1964. In the Alps he climbed since 1967. He climbed a new route on Jalovec and a new route on Dent d'Herens. In 1971, he made the first winter ascent of the Great Corner Pillar of Mont Blanc. In the Scandinavian Mountains, he participated in the first winter ascents of the Fivarute road and the Trollryggen pillar and wall of Trollveggen. In 1969, he participated in a trip to the Pamiro-Alayan mountains, where he climbed several pristine five-thousanders, including the highest peak of these mountains, the Rocky Peak; in 1972, he reached the Communist Peak in the Pamir. In the Afghan Hindu Kush in 1973 he climbed Noszak in winter , in 1984 he made the first winter ascent of Api in the Himalayas. In the Karakorum, he climbed Rakaposhi by a new route, made the first ascent of Distaghil Sar East and Yazghl Dome, and in 1986 climbed K2 by a new route, a route later named Polish Line. He died during the descent from K2. Tadeusz Piotrowski is the author of numerous press articles on mountaineering, and has written several books about his expeditions. His photographic works have been presented at individual and collective exhibitions at home and abroad. Since 2011, there has been an annual Szczecin Review of Films about Mountains O! Mountains! named after Tadeusz Piotrowski. favorite subject of his photographic works are records of his numerous trips, nature photography and people, especially children.
