We invite you to a unique musical event, during which two brilliant works by Frédéric Chopin will be performed in an intimate, salon-style setting. Instead of a full symphony orchestra, the pianist will be accompanied by a string quintet, which will bring out the master’s compositions’ extraordinary lightness, melodiousness, and the details hidden in the dialogue between the instruments.
During the evening, we will hear both of Chopin’s piano concertos in a chamber arrangement:
• Piano Concerto in E minor, Op. 11
• Piano Concerto in F minor, Op. 21
Artur Haftman will take the piano, accompanied by soloists from the renowned Baltic Neopolis Ensemble:
• Piotr Kosarga – violin
• Joanna Goch – violin
• Grzegorz Sadowski – viola
• Piotr Więcław – cello
• Paweł Jędrzejewski – double bass
Artur Haftman – a Polish pianist based in London, recognized as one of the most compelling interpreters of Chopin and Szymanowski’s music of his generation. Winner of over 25 international piano competitions (including those in Paris, Tallinn, Palma de Mallorca, and Moscow). A graduate of the Royal College of Music in London, he currently serves as artistic director of the London International Chopin Competition and SIMA Classics. He has performed before members of the British royal family and on the most prestigious stages in Europe and the United States.
His artistry has been recognized by critics worldwide:
“[Artur Haftman presents] an exquisite and melodious tone and an engaging approach to his performances, comparable to the extraordinary impact Murray Perahia made over forty years ago.”
