Lena Grau (b. 1987) – a wife, mother of three, and archivist working for the Border Guard. She has lived in Szczecin for years and draws inspiration from its dark corners. She is a fan of crime novels and the atmosphere of *Twin Peaks*.
“Granicznik” is her debut novel. It tells the story of Ensign Maciej Zawicki, who discovers that the remains of his father, who went missing years ago, have been found. Returning to his hometown, he attempts to unravel a mystery dating back to the 1980s, involving smugglers and hidden secrets. The novel is not only a crime story but also a tale of people, relationships, and the influence of the past on the present.
The author emphasizes that in crime novels, what matters most to her are the characters and their stories, not violence. It took her nine years to bring the book to publication.
The author talk will be moderated by Marek Stelar. There will be an opportunity to chat, ask questions, get an autograph, and purchase books.
