A band formed in Lublin by Beata Kozidrak, Andrzej Pietras, Jarosław Kozidrak, and Marek Winiarski.
The band’s career took off after winning an award at the debut concert of the Opole Festival in 1978. Bajm took second place there for the song “Piechotą do lata.” The band has released 16 albums. Each of them went gold or platinum. Beata Kozidrak wrote the lyrics for all the songs.
The group has produced over a hundred hits that have become permanent fixtures in the history of Polish music. Among their greatest hits are: “Płynie w nas gorąca krew,” “Dwa serca, dwa smutki,” “Małpa i ja,” “Biała armia,” “Ta sama chwila,” “Szklanka wody,” “Nie ma wody na pustyni,” and “Myśli i słowa.”
BAJM has sold 4 million albums. The band has won all the most important and prestigious music awards in Poland.
The band has toured throughout Europe, the U.S., Canada, and Vietnam. To date, they have performed over 7,000 concerts.
For 33 years, BAJM has performed with the following lineup: Beata Kozidrak – vocals, Piotr Bielecki – guitar, Krzysztof Nieścior – drums, Adam Drath – guitar, and Artur Daniewski – bass guitar. In 2000, Maria Dobrzańska, who plays keyboards, joined the band. All band members are from Lublin.
On August 31, 2018, the double-CD album “BEST OF 1978–2018”—featuring the band’s greatest hits—was released to mark BAJM’s 40th anniversary.
Andrzej Pietras has been the band’s manager for 48 years.
