"3 Days on the Cistercian Trail – Bierzwnik 2026" is one of the most important cultural events in Western Pomerania, combining history, tradition, and contemporary culture. This year’s edition is held under the theme “The Motif of Water and Fish in Cistercian Culture,” referencing the rich heritage of the Cistercian Order, which shaped the region’s development over the centuries.
Participants will have the opportunity to attend academic lectures, concerts of early and contemporary music, historical reenactments, and events promoting the post-Cistercian heritage. The program will also feature performances by folk ensembles, open-air concerts, the 26th Roman Szymoniak Chess Festival, and numerous events bringing together residents and tourists.
The event will take place at the historic Cistercian complex in Bierzwnik—one of the most precious gems of Gothic architecture in Western Pomerania, with a history dating back to the 13th century.
The event is open to the public and free of charge; its goal is to promote the cultural heritage of Western Pomerania, bring the local community together, and develop cultural tourism.
Honorary patronage of the event has been granted by:
The Marshal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship,
The Governor of West Pomerania.
We warmly invite residents of the region, tourists, and all lovers of history, culture, and unique places to join us in discovering Bierzwnik’s Cistercian heritage.
A detailed program of the event is available on the Bierzwnik Municipality website.
