CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR CONCERT BY MEGITZA BAND

INVITATION TO MEGITZA BAND CONCERT.

On January 5, 2025, we will kick off our next artistic season with a musical feast featuring outstanding musicians from the Megitza group.

The Megitza band was founded in 2008 in Chicago. They have played hundreds of concerts in the US at prestigious venues, including the Chicago World Music Festival, Pritzker Pavilion, Lotus Festival, Old Town School of Folk Music, Taste of Polonia, Evanston Arts Festival, Zlatne Usta Festival New York, Chicago Folk and Roots Festival, Chicago Summer Dance Festival, Taste of Chicago, Copernicus Center.

In 2008, the band released its debut album "Boleritza." , which featured a guest appearance by Hungarian violin virtuoso Roby Lakatos.

Since 2012, the band has performed in Poland and abroad at prestigious festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the Vienn Jazz Festival in Austria, the Rudolstadt Festival in Germany, the Sounds of Peace Festival in Armenia, the Festival of Folklore of the Mountain Lands in Zakopane, the Malopolska Folk Meetings, Sabałowe Bajania and many others.

The members of the MEGITZA ensemble are considered influential artists representing Polonia and Polish culture abroad.

MEGITZA band are finalists of the musical television program Must be the Music, where they were recognized by prominent representatives of the Polish music scene: KORA, Elżbieta Zapendowska, Łozo and Adam Sztaba.

They also won a "golden button" from Agnieszka Chylińska in the program Mam. Talent.

To date, the band has released eight studio albums and numerous singles. In the original compositions of the MEGITZA band, one can clearly hear the influence of highland music and Americana.

HOLIDAY-NOVEMBER concert of the band will be held at Vivat Wedding House, January 5, 2025, starting at 5 pm.
