We wrote about the investments that have already been completed in our previous article. This time, we present data from bicycle counters, and soon we will also present statistics from our website. Where in Western Pomerania do cyclists ride most often, and which routes are the most popular online? Let's start with the counters.

There are already 187 Cyclist-Friendly Places in Western Pomerania! We present a summary of the recruitment process for the Cyclist-Friendly Places recommendation system in the West Pomeranian Province. Recruitment to the recommendation system is ongoing, so after formal assessment and verification in the field, the next facilities submitted will join the ever-growing group of certified Cyclist-Friendly Places in the West Pomeranian Province.

The West Pomeranian Province continues to intensively develop its network of bicycle routes. An analysis of completed, ongoing, and planned sections shows that the region is implementing investments of varying scale, from short connectors improving the cohesion of the network to long, multi-kilometer sections of new routes. Cyclists already have access to nearly 1,000 km of a coherent network of bicycle routes. In 2025, 104 km of routes were marked, of which 51 km are bicycle paths separated from motor traffic. Nearly 50 km are under construction, and tenders have already been announced for the marking of another 40 km. (A high-resolution map can be found at the bottom of the page).

Goleniów will be the next town to gain safe access to the West Pomerania Cycle Route Network. The new cycle path will run alongside provincial road No. 111 and connect Goleniów with Modrzewie, crossing the Blue Velo cycle route and the Szczecin Lagoon Cycle Route. The investment will be co-financed by the European Funds for Western Pomerania 2021-27.

On November 19, the Marshal's Office hosted Poland's first pilot workshop on cooperation in the development, maintenance, and promotion of bicycle routes. The meeting focused on the West Pomeranian section of the Blue Velo and Around the Szczecin Lagoon routes.

On February 27-28, 2026, we are organizing the third Polish-German Cycling Tourism Days – an event whose mission is to promote cross-border cycling tourism in the Pomerania Euroregion.

On September 25, 2025, the first ever EuroVelo & Cycling Tourism Awards ceremony was held in Balatonfüred, Hungary.

On September 24, 2025, during the EuroVelo conference in Balatonfüred, a vote was held, as a result of which Wanda Nowotarska, representative of the Marshal of the West Pomeranian Province for bicycle transport, was elected to the EuroVelo Council – the governing body responsible for the development of the EuroVelo route network throughout Europe.

On 24 September 2025, in Balatonfüred, Hungary, during the prestigious Cycling Tourism Conference, Poland was unanimously approved as the National EuroVelo Coordination Centre (NECC). This event is a milestone in the history of Polish cycling tourism and a huge success for the Polish Tourism Organisation (POT) and the Association of Polish Provinces.
